The Mayodan Project
A home as distinctive as the person who lives there.
Mayodan wasn't about reinventing this home. It was about finally making it feel like it belonged to the person living in it. After a lifetime of collecting stories, traveling, and building a remarkable career, our client wanted a home that reflected who he was today.
The renovation focused on aging in place without making the home feel clinical. Floors were raised to create a continuous, accessible living space, a larger sliding glass door strengthened the connection between indoors and out, and the home was thoughtfully prepared for future smart home integration. Environmentally friendly paints and carefully selected natural materials created a healthier home while preserving its warmth and character.
The interiors reflect a collected Southwestern farmhouse aesthetic, blending restored vintage pieces with custom craftsmanship. A rare 1970s Angel Pazmino leather coffee table was carefully sourced and restored, while the first Vibe Dovetail Ottomans were designed specifically for this project. Handmade from white oak, they serve as side tables, hidden storage, and footrests all in one piece. A custom built-in bench creates additional seating so there's always room for family and friends to gather.
The result is a home that feels collected rather than decorated. Every piece has a purpose, every material was chosen to last, and every design decision supports the way this family will live for years to come.
